What is the Tarion Warranty Program?

Tarion is a private corporation which was established to protect the rights of new home buyers and regulate new home builders. Tarion administers the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act, which outlines the warranty coverage that builders and vendors are required to provide to new home and condominium buyers. As a purchaser of a new home, you have various rights afforded to you by the Program, and it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with them, as well as the procedures and limitation periods within which they must be enforced.
